Got kids? We've got you covered! MOPS Kids is pleased to have the privilege of caring for your children while you are in the MOPS meetings. While in MOPS Kids, your child will have the opportunity to play with other children, learn a Bible-based lesson, enjoy snacks and complete fun crafts!

MOPS Kids Registration: To help us better plan for your childcare needs, moms must make a childcare reservation for their child(ren) by noon on the Thursday prior to the meeting they plan to attend. To make a childcare reservation, please include the name and age of your child(ren) when you RSVP to the Smyrna First MOPS online invite.
Check in/Check out Times: Children may arrive at their classroom between 9:15-9:30 a.m. (6:15-6:30pm for the Night Group). Please sign in your child on the sheet located outside the nursery door, and say goodbye to your child OUTSIDE the room. We ask that moms please do not enter the nursery for an easy transition for the kids. Please make sure all of your child’s items are labeled.

Infants: Your baby must be at least 8 weeks old before being placed in the nursery. Before they're eight weeks you're welcome to keep then with you in the meeting room. We strongly encourage babies over 6 months old be placed in the nursery and not attend the MOPS meetings. We ask that moms in the meetings with infants younger than 6 months old make a quick exit when their child becomes fussy.

Nursing Moms: All nursing moms are welcome to breast-feed their infants during the meetings. Any mom who prefers nursing in private may enter one of the unoccupied classrooms nearby.
Peeking Moms: If you are concerned about your child’s well-being during MOPS, please look through the one-way mirror in your child's class instead of opening the class door. This will help prevent and reduce “mommy withdrawal” and maintain a calm environment for the children. If your child needs special attention or has been crying for longer than ten minutes, a teacher will notify you to come get child. Only teachers and preschoolers are permitted in the nursery and classrooms. For the safety and security reasons, please do not enter your child’s room when dropping off and picking up your child.

Crying: MOPS (typically) has a 10-minute crying policy. Therefore, if your child is crying for 10 minutes straight (with no periods of calm), the MOPS Kids worker will alert the MOPS Kids Coordinator and she will let the mother know. At that point, you can go back to comfort your child and decide whether you want to return to the meeting or head home to calm your child. If you are unable to keep your child calm in the nursery, you may bring him or her into the meeting as long as they are not disruptive.

Labeling: Please clearly label all your child’s belongings BEFORE you arrive! This includes bottles, sippy cups, diapers, diaper bags, coats, bags, pacifiers, etc. Please do not bring toys from home as we cannot be responsible if these toys are lost or left behind.

Potty Training: If your child is in the process of being potty trained, please make a note on the sign-in sheet and be sure to let the child care workers know so that they can remind your child to use the potty.

Snacks: Mornings filled with activity can make children very hungry. For this reason, snacks (cheerios, animal crackers and/or gold fish) are provided to your children (toddlers and older) during each meeting. Please do not bring a special snack just for your child since other children present will certainly want that special snack too. However, if your child has a special diet or significant food allergies, please pack an acceptable snack in your child’s bag AND note it on the sign-in sheet. If your child is in the infant nursery and will need a bottle during the MOPS meeting, please make sure it is prepared before you drop off your child.
